Creamy cauliflower bake

Must love a good cauliflower bake! It's a classic dish and versatile to combine with other dishes. This is a basic cauliflower bake recipe by The VegHog and obviously it's very creamy and cheesy.

Ingredients

1 cauliflower
150ml double cream
2 cloves of garlic
Grated Emmental cheese
Fresh basil
Black pepper
Salt
Olive oil

First cut the cauliflower florets off and if some are larger than the others cut them to same sized pieces. Steam the cauliflower florets for about 20 minutes but leave them still a bit firm. While steaming the cauliflower chop the garlic and grate the cheese.

Heat olive oil in a pan and quickly fry the garlic and add the cream. Season with salt and pepper and fresh basil leaves. Let the sauce infuse under a lid at low heat for about 10 minutes. Once sauce has infused add some of the grated cheese to the sauce and stir.

Place the pre-steamed cauliflower florets to an oven dish, pour the sauce on them and add the rest of the grated cheese on the top. You can also use several small oven dishes if you serve this bake as a side dish. It makes a cute presentation.

Bake at 180C for about 20 minutes until the cauliflower is tender and cheese is baked golden brown. The bake is done!

Stay hungry!
